**Kozhikode: **The Enforcement Directorate conducted an inspection of a bank locker belonging to Febeesh, a friend of P.A. Mohammed Riyas, in Kozhikode and found 50 sovereigns of gold. The inspection was carried out at a bank locker that had been frozen earlier as part of the investigation. The gold kept inside the locker was also assessed during the inspection.

The locker belongs to Febeesh, an IT industry professional, and the inspection was conducted recently as part of the ongoing investigation. According to the information available, the locker had been frozen earlier in connection with the probe. During the latest inspection, the ED checked the contents of the locker and identified 50 sovereigns of gold.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate is releasing more information regarding its allegations of a connection between P.A. Mohammed Riyas and hawala transactions. Earlier, details of a statement reportedly given by Varis, who is described as being close to Riyas, had also emerged.

The information was reportedly contained in a letter sent by the ED to the State Police Chief. According to the details of the statement that emerged earlier, Varis reportedly told investigators that ₹1.2 crore had been sent to Faijas V.P. in Dubai.
